Goal Type:

Boston Qualifier

Running Accomplishments:

My first attempt at long distance as an adult.

Kirkuk, Iraq Half Marathon- 1:48:?? forgot seconds.

Short-Term Running Goals:

I will be entering the Eisenhower Marathon in Abilene, KS. This will be my first marathon and I'm pretty ambitious. I want to qualify for Boston.

I want to run 3:05 for Eisenhower, but ultimately want run sub 3:00 by the end of 2011.

Long-Term Running Goals:

As far as long term goals I would like just to stay healthy and injury free....and fast!

Qualify for the Iron Man Tri in Kona and finish in spectacular fashion!

Personal:

I'm currently in the Army and I love that I'm faster than all my Soldiers (who are a lot younger than me). It just seems the older I get the faster I am.

I'm deployed, but I should be back in the states pretty soon.

Being in the Army definitely puts a toll on family and unfortunately I'm divorced, but I have a beautiful daughter who melts my heart.

After a nice nap. I decided to get my interval training done. It was raining all day and temp was dropping, but luckly the rain let up to let me get my workout on. I did 3 x 2 miles intervals with a 800 meter jog/rest. I started with a 1 mile w/u around the track. Everything was going fine until my garmin lost power after my second 2 miler. I ran the last one in the blind, but at least I did it. Didn't to the last 800 meter rest, just walked over to my car cuz I was cold.

1st interval 12:19.93 @ 06:10 AP

2nd interval 13:11.39 @ 06:36 AP

3rd interval don't know but I did it...lol

Just took it easy after my interval workout, and also wanted to run in the shoes I'm racing in. Nothing fancy today just slow and easy.

Gosh it was beautiful today, and my MP day. I ran on the Linear Trail, which was my first time, and let me tell you its amazing. First off it's flat, so I had no excuses for hitting my splits...lol. Its 9 miles long so I cant wait to run there on my long day. Scenic views, wildlife, and people makes for a great run. Oh and today I finally got internet, so my post wont be so far and few.

Started off with a 1.02 mile w/u and ended with a 1.21 mile cool down.

I was running in the shorts I'm running Eisenhower in and started chafing. I bought some body glide, but is there another way to stop it. I usually wear compression shorts when I run, not today...lol Also I got my rode bike fitted to me today, so after the run and since it was a beautiful day I rode 13 miles on it. This is my first bike, first ride and my start to a triathlon.

Another beautiful day but just a tad bit windy for my liking still better than cold. Nugged out a lil 8 mile run after receiving my household goods. Calves were a little tight probably from the bike ride. Watched the 2008 Ford/Ironman Tri on Hulu last night and thats all I thought about on the run...lol. Cool down 0.36 miles

Woke up this morning for a 12 mile run. I started of ok then around 2.5 miles I started have chafing pain from riding my bike a few days ago. So at mile 3 stopped and walked 1.4 miles back to the barracks. I felt disappointed and it killed me mentally.

After running a few errands, eatting, nap, and gops of vasoline, I was ready to try again. Opted for a lil shorter distance since I have a big run day tomorrow and just did 9 miles.

1st Attempt- 4.4 miles- 45:56, AP 10:27 ...epic fail!

2nd Try- 9 miles-1:11:52, AP 07:59 with splits 07:40, 07:47, 07:43, 08:01, 07:57, 07:50, 08:26, 08:20, 08:03

Now it time to carb-up at Olive Garden
